Dahftar — Terms of Use
Last updated 14 October 2026
These terms are between you and Certo Partners LLC (“we”), which makes Dahftar. By using the app you agree to them. They are short because the app is simple: one subscription covers your household, it works without an account, and you can leave at any time.
The app
Dahftar is a shopping list and meal planner for one household. It has no ads. Everything works on your phone without an account; signing in with Apple or Google is needed only to share a list with other people.
Subscription
Using Dahftar needs a subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price the App Store or Google Play shows before you buy. New subscribers get two weeks free first. The store takes the payment — we never see your card — and the subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the time already paid for keeps working. Refunds are handled by the store under its own rules.
One subscription covers everyone in the household (up to four people), whoever bought it. If the person who bought it leaves the household or deletes their account, it stops covering the household. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; only the store can.
You must be at least 13 to use Dahftar. If you are under 18, use it with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Sharing a household
When you share a list, the people you invite can see and change the household’s list, recipes, meal plan and pantry. Invite only people you want to have that. The household’s owner can remove members, and members can leave the household.
Your content
What you add — items, recipes, plans, notes — stays yours. If you share a list, you give us permission to store, copy and send that content only as needed to keep your household in sync and to back it up. We do not use it for anything else. How we handle personal information is in the privacy policy.
When you import a recipe from a web link, you are responsible for having the right to keep a copy of it for your own use.
Starter recipes
The recipes the app can add for you come from the Wikibooks Cookbook and are used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence (CC BY-SA 4.0). Their sources are credited in the app under Settings.
Food is your call
Recipes, quantities and pantry suggestions are a convenience, not advice. Check ingredients and labels yourself for allergies, dietary needs and food safety.
Fair use of the service
Don’t use Dahftar to break the law, to send people invitations they did not ask for, or to interfere with the service or other households — for example by probing, overloading or reverse engineering the server. We may suspend an account that does.
No warranty
Dahftar is provided “as is”. We work to keep it reliable and your data safe, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors, and the sync service may change or end. If we ever stop the sync service we will say so in the app first where we can, and you can export everything from Settings → Export everything at any time.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for anything to do with Dahftar is limited to US$50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Leaving
You can stop using Dahftar whenever you like. To delete your account and its data, use Settings → Delete my account; the privacy policy says exactly what that removes.
App stores
If you got Dahftar from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claim about it — including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims; those are ours to handle. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary. If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app. The same goes for Google and Google Play: they are not party to these terms.
Changes and law
If these terms change materially we will update this page and the date at the top. They are governed by the laws of Nevada, USA, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
